The short explanation of this alert was:

In the summer of 2007, workers at Tommy Hilfiger’s Canadian warehouse decided to join UNITE HERE in order to improve their working conditions.

Workers complained of a lack of significant raises, expensive health insurance, and general disrespect from management.

Instead of respecting their right to join a union, Tommy Hilfiger management retaliated against workers by holding mandatory anti-union meetings, harassing workers who support the union by following them during and after work hours, discouraging workers from using the bathroom, and strongly encouraging workers to withdraw their union cards.

Email Tommy Hilfiger CEO Fred Gehring and Tommy Hilfiger Canada President Howard Starr and demand that they respect workers’ rights.
