Campaign Unavailable We're sorry, this alert is no longer available. If you would like to learn more about ways you can take action, please visit UNITE HERE e-Activism.The short explanation of this alert was: Don't Let Cintas Fire Immigrant Workers! The Cintas Corporation is threatening the livelihoods of immigrant workers by possibly following a controversial new Department of Homeland Security (DHS) proposal. The proposal--which is not the law--encourages employers to fire workers who do not correct social security number mismatches or re-verify to their employers that they are authorized to work in the United States . Currently, Cintas workers in California, Illinois, Connecticut, Minnesota and Wisconsin face termination. The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and numerous civil rights organizations are raising concerns that this proposed regulation could promote workplace discrimination. If we allow Cintas to carry out this policy, many more employers could follow. Tell Cintas CEO Scott Farmer that this policy is unnecessary and immoral. The company should allow workers to settle any social security number issue with the proper governmental agency.
